Materials & Care
Every piece begins with a raw material shaped by time: metal drawn from the earth, wax gathered from hives and stones formed over centuries.
With simple, thoughtful care, these materials will age with integrity and remain part of your rituals, your home, and your everyday life.
The notes below offer guidance for preserving their form and finish, and to ensure longevity.
Beeswax Candles
-
Pure beeswax may develop a soft, white bloom over time
— a natural sign of quality.
• To remove bloom, gently warm the surface with your hands or buff lightly with a soft cloth.
• Alternatively, hold the candle briefly under a warm hairdryer to restore a smooth, golden finish.
Bloom is purely aesthetic and does not affect burn quality. -
Beeswax is a natural material that responds to warmth
and light.
• Keep candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sun to prevent softening or warping.
• Store flat or upright, supported, to maintain their
sculptural form.
• Avoid enclosed spaces with high heat, such as cars or window ledges.
• When displaying, keep candles clear of drafts and strong heat sources. -
Pure beeswax burns slowly and cleanly when cared for correctly.
• Trim wicks to ~5mm before lighting and between burns.
• Allow candles to burn long enough for the melt pool to reach the edges to prevent tunnelling.
• Place on a stable, heat-safe surface away from drafts, children, and pets.
• Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Jewellery
-
Solid gold is naturally suited for everyday wear.
It will not tarnish and can be worn in water.
• Clean with mild soap and warm water when needed.
• Avoid chlorine pools, bleach, or abrasive surfaces.
• Store separately to avoid fine hairline scratches from harder objects. -
Silver naturally deepens in tone over time; regular wear actually slows oxidation.
• Polish with a silver cloth when darkness appears.
• Keep away from chlorine and harsh chemical cleaners.
• Store in an airtight pouch for the longest-lasting finish. -
Natural gemstones and pearls vary in hardness and surface sensitivity and should be handled with care.
• Avoid exposure to perfumes, cosmetics, acids, and household chemicals.
• Do not use ultrasonic cleaners or abrasive polishing cloths.
• After wear, wipe gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth to remove oils.
• Store pieces separately to prevent contact with harder stones or metals that may cause scratching.
• Pearls benefit from minimal contact with cosmetics and should be worn on clean skin.
